James met in Tuscany with one of the owners of Champagne Laurent-Perrier, Lucie Pereyre de Nonancourt, and LP's commercial director, Edouard Cossy, to taste and talk about their soon-to-be-released No. 24 Grand Siècle in magnum.
James said that he found the wine to have "more honey, more richness, and even a tropical fruit sort of character that the normal bottle doesn't have... This has really taken on a whole extra dimension."

    I am always feeling akward at tasting where winemakers are there present as it feels shit if you do not like the wine or the wine is not great. Think about lesser years. I wonder how James doing it as his reviews are out in the open and he needs to come back to the producers every year, if he give like 80/100 what will the domain think especially when you have a laugh or good friends over the years

    Not sure who said it but I agree with the gent said that #1 was the lowest at first but then the wines change or their palates change. Tasting blind is incredibly difficult for me. Wine is not static and can change even over one evening.

    Honestly, whoever wastes 6.600 Euro on a bottle of wine is so detached from actual reality that they probably should get some help.Then again...it's kind of a bargain campared to a Romanée-Conti for 28.000-35.0000 per bottle.

    Jim, have you tried Beaux Freres Amphora? It is amazing! I like Sequitur Amphora as well, but it is so acidic that it stained my kitchen Quartz! (I was eventually able to polish it out). Is this the first Amphora you will be making from this vineyard?
